The sweet spirit of a child

On Saturday, May 17, we as a family went to a baptism for a good friend of Megan. It was a great service and the spirit of the Lord was so strong. The baptism came to a close and we were getting ready to leave when Megan went up to her friend and told him congratulation. Upon her return to where we were sitting she began to cry. We had no idea what had happened so we asked her what was wrong and she would not answer us but kept crying. Jess quietly asked her if she was hurt or if she was just happy for her friend. She looked up at Jess and said that she was just happy for her friend. The spirit is a wonderful thing. What a great opportunity to teach Megan to recognize what the promptings of the spirit feel like. She is so excited to be baptized next month and even more excited about that then having her birthday party the same day.

We have a graduate!

Are you kidding me? My little girl is graduated from preschool. May 8, 2008 Alexis took the walk across the stage at Mt. Zion Baptist Preschool. The program that these sweet little kids had prepared was great. This was a bitter sweat day because we have had a child at this preschool for the last 5 years. They have truly loved it! This was not just any old preschool. It was a school that has not only prepared them for kindergarten but also taught them the bible stories and that they are important in the sight of God.

I might be down but my spirits are high

Thurday didn’t go as well as we expected. We went into surgery to simply clean up the floating meniscus pieces and torn cartilage that were inside my knee and come to find out there was a little more than that. When Dr. Karsch got inside he noticed that I didn’t have any cartilage behind my knee. That is probably where the pain has been coming from because my knee was rubbing bone on bone. I’ve always said that if I’m half the man my dad is that I’d be happy. This is not the half that I was talking about. In order to fix this they decided to drill about 11 holes in my knee to break it and start the healing process which will enable the cartilage to grow during the healing. So this has taken me from being on cruches for four day to four weeks. I have been placed in a large flexibility machine that I have been instructed I need to be in for a minimum of 6 hours a day for 3-4 weeks. This is not my idea of fun.

Spring Break!!!

We just got home from a wonderful week together in Florida. We were able to spend a few days in St. Augustine at the beach and also the Jacksonville area. We were not alone on our journey though. We spent the week with Albert and Jenn Cano (My brother & Jess' sister) and their three children. It was so fun to be able to stay in the same hotels and the kids enjoyed that our rooms were connected. We spent the first day site seeing in St. Augustine. For those of you that don't know the history of Florida, St. Augustine is the oldest city in the country. It was cool to see some of the historical sites and it was neat because the kids even enjoyed it. After site seeing we did a little bit of miniature golfing. Look out Tiger Woods you have some competition. Due to the weather (wind) we spent only one day at the beach but that was enough. We ALL got FRIED. It hurt so bad. Although there was alot of wind we seemed to spend alot of time at the pools of the hotels because our kids are like fish. If there is water there they go. After we left St. Augustine, we went to the Jacksonville area where we were able to spend some time with great grandma Cersey and we were able to go to the Jacksonville Zoo. The kids loved the Zoo especially the otters and the monkeys.

A great time was had by all. It's always fun spending quality time with our family. To bad it had to come to an end.

We have now made in the tech world

Well I guess we have now made it in the technology world. We thought we could try this blog thing and see how we do at it. We from the South wish to say, "Hi Yall." We hope that this will help those far and wide (that's not a fat joke) to check us out and keep track of things that are happening in the Southern regions of the states.
