December 31, 2008 New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve at my parents house of course. Pretty much we spend all our time there. Justin and Kristina came over as well. We played Wii all night. Larry and Carol Cheesman stopped by for the last 2 hours. It was quite a site to see my parents and the Cheesman's playing the Wii. We all got a good laugh at that. My girls were so excited to be able to stay up all night. We had a great time and hope to have a great 2009!!

December 25, 2008 Christmas Day

CHRISTMAS AT OUR HOUSE

We got up about 8:30 and read Scriptures together and then went down to see what Santa had brought. We then opened all our gifts. The girls were excited to open the gifts they had bought for each other. I think their favorite thing was their MP3 players.

CHRISTMAS AT THE MOORE'S

After we finished opening our gifts we went over to our neighbors, the Moore's (Kevin, Cherie, Casey, & Cierra), house. We exchanged gifts with them. They are the best neighbors in the world. We love them to death.

CHRISTMAS AT THE CERSEY'S

We went over to my parents house at noon and stayed there the rest of the day. The kids were so excited to see what grandpa and grandma had added to their toy room this year. They were ecstatic to see the big screen TV with a Wii. The computer was another cool addition as well. They have the best grandparents ever. The parents were pretty excited as well to see another Wii down in the basement for us with Guitar Hero World Tour. Andy got a really nice bike and I got a Dyson vacuum. Yippee!! I was so excited. It is even Asthma certified, so hopefully it will help make Alexis' life a little easier. We all had a wonderful day together and as you can see we played so hard that Jackson decided to take a rest. So cute.

December 24, 2008 Christmas Eve

This year we had Christmas Eve at the Cano's house. Jana and Ta were unable to come and Justin and Kristina came for a couple hours and had to leave before dinner. So it was us, Jenn and Al and my parents. It was a lot smaller than usual. We had a great dinner and the kids were each assigned an adult to serve dinner to for the night. They passed out menus and we marked what we wanted and they brought it back to us. They thought this was so great. They had a fun time doing it. It was nice for us as well. After dinner we had a small program that Albert had put together. All the men were asked to share what Christmas was like for them on their missions. It was neat to hear from them. The girls sang Little One (a song Grandpa Cersey wrote) and Ethan played Jingle Bells on the piano. We sang some hymns while Jenn played the piano. The kids all got to share their testimony of what Christmas was to them. What a great time to be together as a family. We had a wonderful time.

After our program we all went to open our one present which is always a new pair of Pajamas. I think we were all excited with what we got.

Once we got home we fed the reindeer, put out the cookies, pretzels, and milk for Santa, and it was off to bed for us all.

MAKING COOKIES FOR SANTA

This year I had a grand idea the we would dip cookies and pretzels for Santa. The only problem was that I couldn't find good melting chocolate. The chocolate was hardening faster then we could dip them. So our little project didn't last very long but the girls had a great time and I'm sure Santa loved his cookies and pretzles.

Here we are in our Christmas outfits. Well actually just the girls got new dresses. A big thanks to Marf for getting the girls their outfits. We love you Marf. Andy and I were able to sing in the choir at church today. We always enjoy the Christmas program. Andy was asked to sing an arrangement of Silent Night with the choir as backup. He did a great job.

December 13th 2008 Tavaci Concert

Today was Megan and Alexis Tavaci concert. Our day started out not so great. Megan and mommy spent all morning in the ER (5:30am-9:30am)trying to get Megan some medicine for an ear infection. She was up most the night with pain in her ear. She was supposed to be at her dress rehersal at 9:30, so we were a little late.

They both did a great job during the performance. Megan had a solo this year. She got to sing the begining of Rudolph the red nose raindeer and then the chior joined her. She did such a great job. She has a beautiful little voice. Alexis had a speaking part which was about football, a perfect part for someone in our family. They were both so cute. I always enjoy watching them perform. I am so greatful for Miss Betsy and Miss Esther and their willingness to teach my children. We had a great night.

Alexis' 6th Birthday Bash!!

Today is Alexis 6th birthday. I can't believe my baby is already 6. Time goes by so quickly. Andy and I were able to go to the school and have lunch with Alexis. I made cupcakes and she handed them out to all her friends. She has a friend named Blakely in her class and her birthday was today as well. They were so excited that they share a birthday.

Alexis is always so excited when she opens her presents. She gets so excited about every gift she opens. It is so fun to watch her get so excited. Her favorites were her Sharpay wig and dress and the Sharpay golf cart.

Time for the PARTY!! Alexis decided that this year she wanted to have a fashion show for her party. So of course I got a crazy idea that she needed to have a stage to have it on. Well Andy, mom and I created a 10 foot long runway with lights and curtains. It turned out to be very cute. Alexis was so happy. Before the fashion show we had stations for hair, makeup and nails. All the girls thought that was so fun. A great big thanks to all those who helped with this. Mom (nails & clothing) Kristina (makeup), Cherie, & Jana (hair). Once the girls were all dolled up it was time for the show.

Alexis was so funny in this outfit. The red shoes are the best. She was really strutting her stuff down the runway.

Thanks to all those who brought Alexis gifts. She was so grateful for all the stuff she got. Now about her cake. I asked her what kind of cake she wanted this year and she told me she wanted me to make her a cake and put a picture of a model on the top of it. I just laughed and said um I don't think that we should just put some random picture of a model on your cake. So I decided to just put a picture of her on it. She liked it just fine.

Thanksgiving Break 2008

We had a wonderful time this thanksgiving break! Andy and I were lucky enough to have work off and be home with the girls. We had lots of fun things planned for our week together.

Wednesday
The girls got to spend a fun day shopping with Grandma Cersey while Andy and I got to have an afternoon together with some friends. We headed over and picked up Brooke and Justin who were in town visiting for Thanksgiving and then over to Megan and Lee's new house. We all got in our car and went up to Atlantic Station to Dialog in the dark. It is an hour long tour in the complete darkness. The purpose of this tour is to give one an awareness of what it is like to be a blind person. Each tour is guided by a legally blind person. We had a great guide. Our guides name was Peter. He was so impressed with our group and the way we could recognize our surroundings that he began to call us his A+ students. Thanks Lee for leading the way. As for Peter and his story of blindness, he has only been blind for about 2 years. 2 years ago he was perfectly fine and lost his vision unexpectedly. The tour was an awesome experience. It was very neat to try and understand what it might be like to be blind.

Then we got to go have a fun time at the Cheesman's for a pie night. It's always great to spend time with old friends.

Thursday- Thanksgiving Day

Today we spent the morning relaxing around the house. It was nice to sleep in for a change. At noon we went to mom and dad's for some yummy homemade soup. We cooked all afternoon and the rest of the family showed up around 5:00. Our dinner was very tasty.

Grandma has a grandkid tree in the basement that the kids get to decorate each year on thanksgiving. They always enjoy this and grandma always has a small gift for them to open. We had a fun time just being together as a family.

Friday

Today was so much fun. We got up early and had breakfast at mom and dad's and then we all packed in the cars for a 2 hour drive to Pine Mountain Ga. Mom and Dad treated us to a Wild Animal Safari. We rented a 15 passenger van that was painted like a zebra. The windows were taken out and replaced with metal bars. We took an hour long drive where the animals come right up to the window so you can feed them. It was really cool. Alexis almost puked when the water buffalo came up. They smelled so bad. We got to feed Zebras, bulls, deer, elk, bison, pigs, water buffalo, longhorns, and Emily even got to feed an ostrich (she almost got eaten by the ostrich). It was crazy to see how big their tongues were. They were pretty nasty. After the drive there was a walking zoo like area were we saw Ligers, Bears, Lemurs, Baboons, Monkey's and Alligators. There was one monkey that decided it liked Megan. He went crazy when she came near the fence. Where ever she went he followed. He started running and jumping at the fence and using his head to motion her to come to him. He was trying to communicate with her. He was making noises as if he was trying to talk to her. It was really crazy to see how he acted toward her. She was pretty embarrassed though. After the safari we stopped at Olive Garden for dinner. Thanks to grandma and grandpa Cersey for a very very fun and exciting day!
