DREAM COME TRUE....BRISTOL

Gentleman Start Your Engines. It has been a dream for my wife to go to a Sprint Cup Nascar race at Bristol for about 8 years now. Well it FINALLY happend! Saturday August 22, 2009 we made our way to the track. After a long 4 1/2 hour drive that took about 6 hours we made it to our hotel. A quick stop to refresh oursleves and we headed a little further North to the track. Upon our arrival we walked about a mile and a half to get to the track from where we parked. Over the hills and through the "rednecks" we finally made it to the haulers with the apparel of our favorite drivers, Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards. After a shared basket of chicken fingers and fries (I was already broke from the tickets) we headed to our seats. The driver introductions were cool in that they each came out being introduced to their favorite song of choice. A special tribute was given to Mark Martin, the iron man of Nascar, as he was racing in his 1000th race. He was presented with a huge trophy that was almost as big as he was (it was about 5ft tall which is about as tall as he stands). Then it was time to particpate in a Guiness Book of World Records event. We had the most people to sing karoake at the same time and had someone for GBOWR on site to verify it. We sang "Friends in Low People" by Garth Brooks. It was now time for the most famous words in motor sports, "Gentleman, Start Your Engines." 42 cars going around the 1/2 mile track brought much joy and excitment. It is like sitting and watching a race inside a football stadium with over 160,000 other people. The only thing that could have been better was if Biffle or Edwards could have won. Biffle did lead the first 76 laps and finished the race in 4th so it turned out to be a good day. Kyle Bush pulled off the win tonight and did a nice burn out right in front of us. We then left the track and got back to our hotel and went to bed about 2:30 AM. What a great weekend. Thanks mom and dad Cersey for coming with us. We hope you ejoyed it as much as we did.

ThunderCats vs. Green Machines 8/11/09

THREE IN A ROW BABY!!

THUNDERCATS ARE ON A ROLL! Tonight after an hour delay we finally got to play our game. We had some lightning delays in the game before us, so we didn't get to start till 9:30. We played The Green Machines. We won 19-8! I believe we were up 14-3 in the 3rd inning. We had some really great hits tonight. Congrats goes to Justin for 2 great hits, and Esther is still consistent in getting on base. Nicole made a great play from home and we had minimal errors. Everyone did a good job playing together as a team. Chris was awesome at pitcher once again. Since I just had surgery a big thanks to Stephanie Beaty for filling in for me this week. We missed Ryan and Brindi who were only able to play one inning before having to go home to Aden, since we were so late starting. We missed you guys. Here are a few pictures we took before the game. I tried to take some during the game but was told I couldn't use my flash so we ended up with only a few pics. Next week will be better for picture taking.

Last day of summer...Water Slide at Baugh's

Today was the last day of summer for the girls before school starts back. The Baugh's decided to have a water slide party. The kids all love this so much. Jenn and Albert were gone for a work meeting so we had their 3 kids with us. The party started at 3:30 and we never left there till after 8:00. This kids had a great time, but as you can see from the pictures I'm pretty sure the adults had more fun then them. I was unable to play this year since I just had surgery on Wednesday but it was still really fun to watch.

Our Baby Boy!

Today we found out that our baby boy would not be joining us here on earth. It was a very hard and sad day for our family. This is the 5th baby in a row that we have lost. We have been taking all the necessary steps to try to keep this baby alive. I was put on a blood thinner, Heprin, that I had to give myself twice a day in the way of a shot in my leg. We had high hopes that it would work for us. Unfortunately the medicine did not help. I feel completely blessed to have two beautiful little girls. We are so thankful for the gospel in our lives and for the knowledge of eternal families.
