It is a tradition in our family when the kids turn 8 Grandpa and Grandma Cersey take them to Disney World. Megan and Ellie are 6 weeks apart in age so they got to go on their trip together. They had a great time and got SPOILED!! They were gone for 4 days. Megan was so excited to come home and show us all her souvenirs.

Jessica's First day of WORK!!

Well today was the first official day of work for me. Yes you read that right I am working now. I got a job working at Legacy Academy for kids. I get to work in the infant room which is what I have always loved to do. I work from just after my girls leave to school until just before they get home. I did go in yesterday for training but today I got to go in and be with the kids. I had a good first day. I think this wil be a good thing for our family. I am excited to be working now that the girls are both in school.

First Day Of School!!

What an exciting day it was at the Dollar house. Today was Alexis' first day of Kindergarten and Megan's first day of 3rd Grade. So what does that mean for Jess and Andy, well it means FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOM!! No more kids at home. We can't believe that both our girls are in school. They were so excited to get back to school. Alexis was not scared at all. She jumped right on the bus with no problem. Megan was such a great big sister, she was so happy to have Alexis on the bus with her. She walked her to her classroom when they got to school. When they got home Megan was helping her off the bus and holding her hand. It was so sweets to see. We love our girls so much.

A day at the park

Yesterday was a very long and tiring day. We arrived to Six Flags Over Georgia at 10:30 AM when it opened. Albert and his family met us there so we could all enjoy this day together. One last fling before the kids go back to school. My wife as a teenager loved this place so we decided that we would take our children to see if they take after their mother or father (Mother loves these things and Dad kind of gets sick most the time). Well we found that out really quick. Jess decided that we would throw Megan to wolves first thing. Megan was escorted by her mother onto the “Georgia Cyclone”. The name of this ride should give it away. This ride goes about 50 mph for about 2 minutes and jerks you around like crazy. We decided that we ought to take it a little easier on the kids so we then went to the Dahlonega Mine Train which everyone could do. By this time it was extremely hot so we decided a water ride was necessary so next came the Splash Water Falls and some of us got soaked. Lunch time was FINALLY upon us. The long lines for all these rides were getting old. Off to the cars we went. Wait not quite yet! Jess had to ride one more before lunch so a group went to ride the Goliath. This thing is one of the fastest and highest rides in the park. It covers 8.5 acres, drops about 20 stories, and goes about 70 mph. Can you say, “Take my breath away”?

Not much time was spent at the cars eating. Let’s get back to the rides. It was time to do some of the kids rides now that the rest of the family (Grandpa & Grandma Cersey, Justin & Kristina, and DeeJuana) finally made it. On our way to the kids section we had to make a stop for the older kids (Adults). We had a pit stop to the Georgia Scorcher. The claim for this ride is that it is one of the Southeast’s tallest and fastest stand-up roller coasters. Close to 11 stories tall and traveling 54 mph was more fun than you can imagine. Now we are off to the little kids area. The Mindbender was our next destination. This was Alexis’ favorite ride of the day. It was great because there was only about a 10 minute wait. Ride to your hearts content girl. Mom and Lex rode this ride 5 times. While they were doing this the others went to experience Gotham City and the Batman ride. Lex loved this ride so much that when she got off she said and I quote, “That was Awesome.” The mind bender travels about 50 mph, has 2 vertical loops and even does a cork screw that throws your head around in which you have no control. By the 5th time on the ride Lex was even screaming and keeping her hands in the air the entire ride. While this was taking place Megan and Ellie (Cousin) rode the Swings about 5 or 6 times since there wasn’t a line. They loved it!

The day was coming to a close quickly but we couldn’t leave without hitting the Acrophobia. Holy Cow is all I can say. This is one of those free fall rides. Albert & I do not do these kinds of things very often but we decided that we would both try to conquer a fear of ours, “HEIGHTS”. This ride climbs about 200 feet above the ground, stops at the top for it seems like eternity while tipping you forward in your seat a little bit and playing peaceful music. Then once all of a sudden you are plummeting to the ground. Amazingly enough we made it out of there alive. On our way out the front gate we had to hit another wet ride so that everyone could ride home wet so we went to the Log Jamboree. Thank goodness it was a little weak so nobody really got to wet. The day was full of entertainment and excitement. A good time was had by all.

One thing to ALWAYS remember is 1 flag, 2 flags, 6 flags. More Flags, more fun!
