Megan's Special Day

Megan Elise Dollar came into this world eight years ago on June 21st. I can’t believe I have an eight year old. Well the time had come for Megan to make a decision as to whether she would be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She decided that this is what she wanted to do. June 21, 2008 was the day she decided that would happen. What a wonderful day! We arrived at the church at about 10 AM and got dressed in our white clothes. My heart was so full of gratitude at the wonderful sweet little girl Megan is becoming. I have been a part of a number of baptisms but none of them compare to that of your own child. As we entered the water I couldn’t help but think of that day when she came into our lives and the spirit of love we as new parents felt for her. I’m happy to say that that love is still as strong today as it was then. The support that Megan had at her baptism was AMAZING! We had to open the curtains in order for everyone to be able to be seated. We had nearly 70 people there. I felt overwhelmed by the love and support we as a family have been shown by our friends and family members. Thanks to all who were there. A special thanks to Grandpa & Grandma Dollar for flying out to be here for a few days to share in this wonderful day with us.

Well that part of the day was over and we needed to celebrate Megan’s birthday so we went to our friend’s house to enjoy what has come to be known as the “Redneck Water Slide.” They have a huge hill on the side of their house that we were able to put a piece of plastic (10 feet wide by 100 feet long) down and enjoy the slide. The kids had a blast. I would like to add that we were all kids that day as you can see by the picture below. Yes that is my wife racing against some of our friends. Even the old peeps (Sorry Grandma) had a blast. We did piñata, presents, cake, and meatball sandwiches but mostly we did the water slide.

A special day this was and thanks goes out to ALL who helped to make this one of the best days of our lives.
